MightyFly signs USD 50 million contract with healthcare provider for same-day aerial logistics

MightyFly’s Cento eVTOL aircraft can autonomously transport hundreds of test kits to and from multiple destinations on a single route, resulting in faster deliveries and diagnostic results as well as lower operating costs and reduced emissions. Cento has a 1,000-mile range and will provide same-day deliveries, with in-transit cold storage as an optional feature, directly from pharmacies, clinics and retail stores to the healthcare provider’s labs.

Seeing the potential, MightyFly says the U.S. pharmaceutical logistics market exceeds USD 100 billion annually, while healthcare logistics approaches USD 90 billion. “Both are projected to more than double in the coming decade as diagnostics, personalised medicine and resilient supply chains become critical to healthcare delivery.”

Earlier this year, MightyFly received Federal Aviation Administration authorisation to test in five Californian airspaces, up to 5,000 ft, including seven airports and multiple flight corridors.
