According to an X post from Archer Aviation today, the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) “have activated our investment framework agreement to accelerate Archer’s planned commercial air taxi operations in Abu Dhabi. Under the agreement, we will continue our work toward beginning to deploy Midnight aircraft in Abu Dhabi, starting with at least two piloted vehicles, in partnership with Abu Dhabi Aviation and Etihad Aviation Training. Work is already underway on this phase of the framework which includes recruiting and training local pilots, conducting in-region testing and certification efforts and more.”
The post references a similar X post from ADIO: “(We) have activated an investment framework to accelerate commercialization of air taxis in Abu Dhabi, the first city to deploy the Midnight aircraft.”
