EHang’s EH216-S “enters service with the Guangzhou police department”

AsiaOne news service reports that China has deployed its first pilotless crewed eVTOL, an EHang EH216-S, in police service, in Guangzhou, on January 10. The eVTOL, with a maximum take-off weight of 650 kg and a range of 30 km, can carry two people on a mission.

According to the news service, the aircraft “operates along preset flight paths and supports autonomous flights, allowing faster response times and more flexible deployments. The Hangpoo Public Security Bureau said the platform will be used for routine patrols, emergency response, traffic management, and search and rescue missions supported by realtime aerial monitoring and data transmission.”
