In a Linkedin post CycloTech reports it has received Operational Authorisation for BlackBird Aircraft Operations for 2026 from the National Aviation Authority Austro Control.
“Following the successful execution of our authorised flight test programme in 2025, this approval enables us to continue BlackBird flight test operations seamlessly throughout 2026,” said the company in the post. “Receiving this authorisation reflects both a smooth operational history and continued regulatory confidence in our safety, compliance, and operational readiness. We look forward to another productive year of disciplined flight testing and programme advancement.”
In December 2025, CycloTech received a grant for its BlackBird Demonstrator from the EU and the state of Upper Austria. The project covers the development and testing of a flight demonstrator equipped with six CycloRotors, including easy transition from hover to forward flight, superior maneuverability, as well as gust and crosswind compensation and decoupling of the vehicle attitude from its flight path.
