Airbility, a high-speed electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL) developer based in the Republic of Korea, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Thailand’s NT iBuzz Co, SmartOkO Thailand and Singapore-based KILSA Global to jointly advance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technologies, secure communications, and AI-powered surveillance solutions for public safety and border security in Thailand.
“Founded in 2023 by aviation specialists from Hyundai Motor Company and the Agency for Defense Development (ADD), Airbility develops next-generation aerial mobility platforms based on high-speed eVTOL aircraft, providing mission-based UAV solutions for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance(ISR), counter-UAS (anti-drone); and disaster response (DFR) applications,” said the companies in a press release.
NT iBuzz is a subsidiary of National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT), a Thai state-owned enterprise with core capabilities in national communications infrastructure and secure connectivity. SmartOkO Thailand, the Thai subsidiary of HeritageIT Inc. (Korea), is an AI-specialized company that delivers intelligent surveillance solutions powered by vision AI-driven video analytics and computer vision technologies. KILSA Global, headquartered in Singapore, provides cross-border business development, project management, and public-sector technology initiatives across ASEAN.
Under the agreement, the four parties will jointly pursue the development, deployment, and utilization of advanced UAV systems for public safety and border security in Thailand. The scope of collaboration includes the integration of secure communication and data transmission networks to support UAV operations, as well as the application of AI-based video analytics, computer vision, and intelligent monitoring solutions. The parties will also jointly plan, coordinate, and manage pilot projects, demonstration initiatives, and future deployments across Thailand.
Specific areas of application include border surveillance and monitoring, public safety and law enforcement support, disaster response and emergency management, and monitoring of critical infrastructure and restricted areas.
