BETA Technologies and EXIM agree up to USD1 billion in new funding to expand production

BETA Technologies and the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) have announced the intent to expand their existing financing relationship, providing BETA with up to USD1 billion in net financing.

EXIM already has a relationship with BETA: an original USD170 million loan that was crucial to the construction of BETA’s production facility in South Burlington, Vermont, according to a BETA press release.

“Following the roughly USD1.2 billion raised in BETA’s 2025 IPO, the proposed capital from EXIM would give BETA close to an additional USD1 billion in growth funding without diluting existing shareholders,” continued the press release. “Non-dilutive financing means BETA can fund expansion without giving up more ownership stake. “

The funding would support: roughly doubling capacity across BETA’s manufacturing facilities over the next several years; bringing more strategic aerospace manufacturing processes in-house, strengthening BETA’s already robust internal supply chain; and scaling BETA’s electric propulsion business to serve aircraft manufacturers and operators in the U.S. and internationally.

“The proposed investment would support hundreds of technical, high-quality U.S. aerospace and advanced-manufacturing jobs,” says BETA. “That growth also serves a bigger goal: building aerospace technology in the U.S. that reaches customers everywhere, including international operators considering or currently flying BETA aircraft and using BETA propulsion systems. Scaling American manufacturing to meet the increasing global demand is the mission EXIM was created to support. “
