France’s DTA plans to fly its two-seat hybrid-electric JP1 personal eVTOL in the United States in 2027, according to a company press release.
The JP1 has been flying in France for more than 200 hours and DTA Aircraft will open the USA flight test campaign of the JP1 in Arizona in 2027.
The aircraft will be on display at the 2026 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE), Oct. 20-22, 2026, in Las Vegas, NV, at Booth 6200 in the Atrium Lobby.
“This show has seen a lot of eVTOL mock-ups. We brought an actual flying aircraft with 200 hours behind it. Every spec about the JP1 rests on that.” Said Théo Parant, CEO, DTA Aircraft.
The JP1 flies two full hours with two people on board, according to the company. It refuels in minutes at any airfield, because its onboard range extender runs on jet fuel. There is no charging stop and no charging infrastructure to build. Eight rotors keep it flying with up to four propeller failures, as long as each boom keeps one working propeller, and a whole-airframe ballistic parachute is the last layer. “The autopilot flies the aircraft. The pilot decides where it goes.”
DTA has built aircraft in France since 1990, with 595+ aircraft sold across 33+ countries and 300,000+ cumulated flight hours.
Reservations are open with a USD12,000 deposit, USD10,000 of it refundable, which counts toward the aircraft price and locks it at USD385,000.
