
In a Linkedin post, Rashid Al Manai, CEO of LODD, based in Abu Dhabi, reports the company’s sub-scale version of the Hili cargo eVTOL “has achieved a smooth transition to cruise flight—a big milestone made possible by an amazing team. This wraps up our flight testing to validate the avionics and software we developed in-house. Next up: getting the full-scale Hili in the air.”
Hili is an autonomous long-range aircraft that features an adaptable, two-Euro-pallet, 250kg cargo system.
In February this year the company announced a partnership with Skyports Infrastructure, to develop three vertiports in the Abu Dhabi. The partnership “will connect key sites within the Emirate, with potential for connectivity between locations across the United Arab Emirates. The development of a vertiport network that will support the operation of eVTOL aircraft and autonomous aerial logistics in the UAE,” sad the companies in a press release..
