EHang gives more details of its new pilotless eVTOL – the VT35

EHang has launched its latest pilotless eVTOL, the VT35, capable of carrying more than 200 kg payload at an economic cruise speed of 216km/h with a flight endurance of 60 minutes.

According to the company’s website…“equipped with advanced intelligent flight control systems, the VT35 achieves autonomous flight, minimizing human error and ensuring safe travel. Adopting a lift-and-cruise design (8 lifts + 1 propulsion propeller), its dual-mode integration significantly extends range and endurance. The intelligent navigation system enables autonomous point-to-point flight. Multi-sensor fusion technology ensures precise takeoff, landing, and real-time obstacle avoidance, with remote supervision safeguarding the entire journey. Multiple redundancies across flight control, power, and avionics systems prevent single-point failures, providing comprehensive safeguards.

“The lightweight design improves payload and energy efficiency, adaptable to EH216-S vertiports, widely suitable for urban operations at lower costs. The tandem wing layout reduces footprint and takes off requirements, adapting flexibly to various environments, including urban spaces, suburbs, mountains, and islands. A streamlined profile improves lift-to-drag ratio, while the tandem double-wing layout with multi-control surfaces handles high-altitude winds, low-altitude turbulence, and complex airflow.
