This week Chinese drone manufacturer EHang signed a cooperation agreement with the municipality of Llíria (Valencia – Spain) for the development of a test & certification centre in Southern Europe.
This initiative paves the way for the commercialisation in Europe of the delivery drones and air taxis of the Asian firm. The Spanish city is developing an ambitious urban air mobility (UAM) project including multimodal integration of critical goods transportation, together with disabled people mobility between the medical network of regional hospitals and isolated residential areas.
This news follows swiftly on from EHang’s 216 two-seater passenger air taxi being given an operational flight permit by Norway’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), for long-term testing.
