MetroAir’s Multicruiser eVTOL features lifting ducted rotor technology

Korea’s MetroAir reports the development of the Multicruiser — a next-generation guarded eVTOL aircraft powered by patented Rimfoil ducted rotor technology.

The Rimfoil structure encloses each propeller — eliminating visual threat in urban environments while generating wing-like lift at speed. It combines the low-speed maneuverability of a hexacopter with the cruising efficiency of a fixed-wing aircraft, says the company.

“Unlike conventional drones or electric aircraft, the Multicruiser is engineered to hover and cruise without compromise: two-thirds less drag, contained tip vortices, and a safety-first design that makes it the ideal platform for dense urban environments….MetroAir’s vision is a full 3D urban transportation platform — Multicruiser aircraft plus hub vertiports plus AI-managed air corridors — a system designed to make aerial mobility not just possible, but inevitable.
