Volatus Infrastructure & Energy Solutions (VI&E Solutions) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ResilienX to collaborate on their electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vertiport project at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. VI&E Solutions says it aims to engage ResilienX in providing their FRAIHMWORK® solution as an in-time aviation safety management system (IASMS) capability.
ResilienX produces “in-time aviation safety management systems (IASMS) and has developed a platform around fault tolerance, safety assurance and maintenance of complex systems of systems” according to the press release. “As vertiports move towards becoming more like an airport and less like a concrete slab, we envision a complex system including battery charging, surveillance, comms, weather sensors, networking equipment, and all of the digital infrastructure needed to manage and direct operations and personnel. ResilienX monitors the health, integrity, and performance of these diverse systems and orchestrates mitigations to gracefully degrade as adverse or off-nominal conditions occur.
