At the Pan American Advanced Air Mobility (PAAM) Conference the Advanced Air Mobility Institute (AAMI) and partners launched the Advanced Air Mobility Glossary of Terms in English and the languages of South America, including Spanish, Portuguese, Creole, Quecha, French and Guarani. The glossary also includes American Sign Language,
According to the AAMI the purpose of the publication is “to build a share language before decisions are made, so residents, authorities, operators and emergency services can discuss AAM benefits, risk and trade-offs.”
“We adapted our definition of AAM from NASA’s Advancing Aerial Mobility National Blueprint, first published in March of 2020,” said the AAMI. “NASA frames AAM as an ecosystem that includes electric aircraft, drones, s0mart infrastructure, and increasing levels of autonomous operations. The AAM Institute seeks to protect people, their rights, and the systems we rely on. The most promising use cases for broad public benefit are Emergency Response and Air Medical Transport.”
