Farnborough 2026 – Urban-Air Port, AirClad partner to develop modular, affordable vertiports

Vertiport developer Urban-Air Port (UAP) and AirClad, specialists in advanced engineered building systems, product engineering and advanced manufacturing, have announced a strategic collaboration to accelerate the commercialisation of advanced air mobility (AAM).

“The collaboration combines Urban-Air Port’s expertise in deployable AAM infrastructure systems and operational integration with AirClad’s strengths in product engineering and advanced manufacturing,” say the companies in a press release. “Together, the companies will develop the next generation of affordable, product-led solutions designed to enable the rapid deployment of connected AAM networks.

“Urban-Air Port and AirClad share the belief that commercial AAM must launch as a network—not evolve into one. Commercial viability will be achieved through connected networks that provide sufficient destinations and flight frequency to create a compelling passenger experience and a sustainable business case from day one. Delivering those networks requires affordable, product-led solutions that can be manufactured and deployed rapidly at scale.”

“The partnership combines two technologies designed around the same principle: AAM infrastructure should be scalable, manufactured & installed, not built. Urban-Air Port’s patented Vertical Airfield architecture delivers up to a 90% smaller operational footprint than conventional vertical take-off infrastructure while significantly reducing both capital and operating costs.  Combined with AirClad’s expertise in modular engineering, advanced manufacturing and rapid deployment, the solution enables high-throughput vertiports to be produced, assembled and replicated at speed—making commercially viable AAM networks achievable from day one rather than over decades.”
