In a Linkedin post, Cligent Aerospace, developer of the CL1000 hybrid electric STOL aircraft, has announced it has signed a Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with Shree Maruti to develop a regional and coastal air mobility ecosystem, starting from Gujarat.
“This collaboration will initially connect Rajkot, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Bhavnagar, Vadodara, Surat, and extend to Mumbai, enabling fast warehouse-to-warehouse aerial logistics,” said the company in a post. “What earlier took 8–10 hours by road will now be completed in just 1–2 hours, with up to 50% lower operating costs, enabled by a hybrid-electric STOL configuration designed for Indian conditions.
“As part of these MoUs, SMILE (Shree Maruti Integrated Logistics Limited) will use Cligent’s CL1000 STOL aircraft, purpose-built for very short take-off and landing operations, regional airstrips, and coastal routes.”
