AVERON Aerospace has announced it is developing the A-001, a next-generation hybrid-electric tiltrotor aircraft designed to expand access to emergency medical services in remote and infrastructure-limited regions.
“Combining helicopter-like vertical takeoff and landing with the speed and range of a fixed-wing aircraft, the A-001 aims to enable faster medical transportation across greater distances,” said the company in a press statement. The A-001 features a streamlined aerodynamic fuselage, advanced wing design, and two 9-meter, three-blade tilting proprotors, engineered for efficient vertical flight and high-speed cruise, said the company in a Linkedin post. The aircraft is being designed with a maximum speed ip to 520+ km/h, a cruise speed of 450 km/h, a maximum takeoff weight of 10,000 kg, a payload of up to 2,000 kg and passenger capacity of between 10 and 13 passengers plus two pilots.
