PAL-V, a company developing an aircraft which can also use public roads, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AVION, a specialist in advanced flight training devices, and FLYVE, a developer of FlyDrive ecosystems for professionals and governmental operators. The partnership will explore the development of a global training infrastructure, combining advanced simulation technology, dedicated training programs and strategically located training hubs to support the commercial deployment of FlyDrive mobility worldwide.
“Following the acquisition of both its automotive and aviation manufacturing licenses, PAL-V is increasingly focused on building the ecosystem required to support commercial deployment at scale,” said the company in a press release. “Professional training capability is a critical component of that ecosystem. The company has established the FlyDrive Academy from which flight training with customers is currently conducted. Further integrating advanced flight simulator technology will enable the Academy to scale its operations, train customers independent of weather conditions, and enhance training efficiency and sustainability.”
Under the MoU, the parties will jointly explore opportunities to develop dedicated PAL-V flight training simulators, specialised training programs, and the integration of existing training facilities into a future global FlyDrive training network.
“Obtaining our manufacturing licenses marked the transition from technology development to industrialisation and market deployment,” said Robert Dingemanse, CEO of PAL-V. “As we prepare for commercial operations, it is essential that customers have access to world-class training solutions. Through this collaboration with AVION and FLYVE, we are exploring how advanced simulation technologies and international training facilities can support the future growth of the FlyDrive market.”
AVION is a specialist in the development, manufacturing and lifecycle support of advanced flight training devices, as well as the operation of international training centres, including facilities in London and Mumbai.
“The emergence of FlyDrive mobility introduces an entirely new category within transportation and aviation,” said Prachee van Brandenburg, CEO of AVION. “Training will play a vital role in enabling safe and efficient operations from day one. We are excited to explore how our experience in simulation and pilot training can contribute to the success of PAL-V and FLYVE in this innovative market.”
“This partnership strengthens the foundation needed for the global adoption of FlyDrive mobility, logistics and operations,” said Arthur van der Wees, CEO of FLYVE. “Especially professional and governmental customers require efficient flight training. By bringing together PAL-V’s expertise in FlyDrive mobility solutions, AVION’s simulator technology and FLYVE’s ecosystem development, we can help create a scalable training infrastructure that supports both commercial, professional, and governmental operators and users worldwide.”
The Memorandum of Understanding establishes a framework for further cooperation and exploration of opportunities related to simulator development, pilot training and international training centre operations, say the companies.
