Republic Airways has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with BETA Technologies to explore the use of electric aircraft. BETA will provide a prototype version of its ALIA conventional take-off and landing (CTOL) electric aircraft to Republic’s wholly owned subsidiary, Brickyard Connection, LLC.
The aircraft will be used for real-world trials across a range of passenger and cargo operations, said the companies at this year’s Paris Air Show, and will also be used to assess route networks, operating economics, infrastructure needs and aircraft performance.
The aircraft will be delivered in late 2025.
BETA’ s ALIA CTOL is scheduled to make daily demonstration flights at the Paris show, the first time an electric aircraft has flown at the event
