The first strategic meeting on advanced air mobility (AAM) held under the chairmanship of India’s Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, took place earlier today, according to a Linkedin post from Ratandeep Tripathi, Founder of Vjaitra Air Mobility.
“Leading Indian eVTOL OEMs including VJAITRA, The ePlane Company, Sarla Aviation, BluJ Aerospace Private Limited, and Nalwa Aerospace were invited by the Ministry to present project updates, readiness levels, and deployment roadmaps—a strong signal of the Government’s intent to co-create the future of urban air mobility,” said the post.
The meeting discussed: planning for eVTOL testing sandboxes, pilot integration, and certification pathways; vertiport advisory frameworks to enable safe and scalable infrastructure and global insights and benchmarking “shared by World Economic Forum and FICCI perspectives from prospective operators and infrastructure players including Hunch Mobility and Skyports Infrastructure.”
The outcome of the meeting was a clear articulation of aircraft and infrastructure requirements for future AAM corridors, according the post, alignment on economic viability models and global best practices and consolidated action points and a defined way forward for policy, regulation, and implementation
