Brazil’s Moya targets 2027 for first heavylift cargo drone services

Brazilian heavylift cargo drone developer Moya reports in a Linkedin post it plans to start services in 2027.

“With its strong capacity and range, our eVTOL is a strong solution for the fast-growing global market,” it says in the post. “As the eVTOL sector expands, the global logistics market is projected to reach USD5,951 billion by 2030, growing at 7.2% each year from 2025 to 2030. To put this in perspective, transportation services generated USD,164 billion in revenue in 2024, underscoring the sector’s importance.

“Beyond market growth, there is another key factor to consider. Adopting electric vehicles in logistics will help the sector reach global CO2 reduction targets. The industry plans to lower emissions intensity by 28% by 2030 and by 94% by 2050, compared to 2023 levels. Our fully electric Moya Series can replace traditional trucks, directly reducing emissions for companies and supporting the shift to cleaner transport. Trucks, especially medium and heavy-duty types, are the largest source of global emissions. In 2023, they produced 1.89 Gt of direct CO2 emissions.

“While improved fuel efficiency has cut emissions intensity by 14% since 2019, trucks still make up about 65% of all road freight transport emissions. They also release significant amounts of NOx and black carbon.”
