LODD Autonomous has signed a strategic agreement with Aramex – signed by Nicolas Sibuet and in the presence of Alaa Saoudi – to integrate the Hili hybrid VTOL into middle-mile logistics, according to a Linkedin post from LODD’s Chief Executive Officer Rashid Al Manai.
“This partnership strengthens our mission to move cargo faster and more efficiently, redefining regional air logistics and accelerating the future of autonomous mobility in the UAE and beyond,” said Rashid Al Manai.
The agreement covers a pilot programme in Abu Dhabi designed to test the Hili for middle-mile logistics, transporting goods directly between Aramex facilities without relying on airports, according to media reports.
“The pilot will run in two phases, initially moving parcels from Aramex’s Musaffah facility to two temporary drone delivery points in Abu Dhabi, where couriers will collect and complete final delivery,” said Logistics Middle East. “A second phase, subject to performance results, would expand operations to three additional areas using a longer-range platform to assess more complex routing scenarios. Operational workshops will also be held to address regulatory alignment and UAS safety requirements. The initiative is supported by the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), reinforcing the emirate’s ambition to become a testbed for next-generation mobility solutions.”
