Multiple media reports say US startup Poseidon Aerospace has unveiled a full-scale prototype of its Egret cargo drone, “the world’s largest cargo UAV,” said the company. The aircraft features a wingspan of 50ft, a 4,000 lb payload and a range of 1,600 miles.
According to the company website this results in an aircraft which features a 30% lower lifetime cost-base over conventional types, a 40% lower fuel burn, 15% more cargo volume and twice as many operations a year compared with leading general aviation types.
