People near the Cheektowaga Walmart on Walden Avenue are the latest to have a coronavirus test delivered to their home by drone, reports spectrumlocalnews.com. Cheektowaga is an American town in Erie County, New York, with a 90,000 population.
Walmart has teamed up with Quest Diagnostics and Drone-Up to deliver the do-it-yourself nasal swab kits to anyone within a one mile radius of the location. Only people living in a single-family home will be able to receive the drove delivery. After administering the test, people will then use a prepaid shipping envelope to mail the sample to Quest Diagnostics.
The Cheektoawaga location is now the second Walmart in the U.S. to use this new program. Results will help organisers plan how drones can best be used to battle COVID-19 going forward.
