On November 17, GOVY, the flying car brand under GAC Group, recently announced the completion of a 200 million yuan (USD28 million) Pre-A round of financing. So far, GOVY has raised a total of 500 million yuan  (USD70.6 million)within the year. This capital injection comes at a critical stage as the company makes significant progress in airworthiness certification, market expansion, and international development.

Looking back at its development timeline, GAC officially launched the flying car brand “GOVY” in December last year. In June this year, the GOVY AirCab was unveiled in Hong Kong, China, with an official guide price not exceeding 1.68 million yuan, immediately securing nearly 1,000意向 orders on the spot.

The vehicle’s body extensively uses aerospace-grade carbon fiber composite materials, with an adoption rate exceeding 90%, effectively reducing weight by over 30%. The design features top-mounted rotors and gull-wing doors, supporting 25-minute fast charging. The flying car offers a 2-seat layout, with the cabin equipped with 5G connectivity, an intelligent assistant, fragrance functions, and safety configurations such as a redundant flight control navigation system and full-process system monitoring. It supports L4-level autonomous driving, with computing power exceeding 500 TOPS and a maximum detection range of over 300 meters. It is primarily targeted at cultural and tourism travel scenarios, such as low-altitude sightseeing.

Subsequently, in July, the company successfully delivered the first prototype. Currently, the product has entered the airworthiness certification phase and is planned to complete certification in the second half of 2026, initiating mass production and delivery. The goal is to usher in a new era of low-altitude passenger flight by 2027.
