Electra Aero has launched Electra Defense, a new business unit delivering next-generation airlift solutions for the U.S. military with the EL9 — a multi-mission, hybrid-electric ultra-short takeoff and landing (ultra-STOL) aircraft.
“Capable of taking off and landing in as little as 150 feet and carrying 1000 lbs over 1000 miles, the EL9 provides runway independence for distributed logistics operations, special missions, and agile combat employment support,” said the company in a Linkedin post. “We’re bringing people, power, and payloads to the most austere locations in the world.”
